Halloween at the Tide's Inn

Where in the World - Southeast United States

Tides InnIRVINGTON, VA - (September 20, 2010) - What floats your boat for Halloween? Yachting and Halloween enthusiasts alike will flock to the charming 106-room Tides Inn on Virginia's Northern Neck for the first-ever October 30 "Haunted Boat Parade" and indulge in a one- or two-night package complete with waterfront accommodations, three-course dinner and daily breakfast for two, from just $260.

The first-ever unique costumed parade of vessels adorned with lights and frightful décor will depart from the resort's marina for a creatively ghoulish journey along Carter's Creek. The day into evening event will also include pumpkin carving, hot cider and s'mores by the bonfire, and a costume contest complete with prizes.

"We're delighted to take advantage of fall's warmer temperatures and a 'lighter later' daylight saving time evening to co-host this floating costume parade," said Gordon Slatford, Tides Inn General Manager.

The resort's full-service marina, which is home to the acclaimed Premier Sailing School and has 60 slips that can accommodate transient vessels up to 125-feet in length, will begin installation of new floating docks in early November. In addition to the Tides Inn, the Haunted Boat Parade is sponsored by the Rappahannock River Yacht Club, the Village Improvement Association and the Lights on the Creek Committee.
